Audrain County’s Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the effective implementation of Audrain County’s Emergency management program, which includes developing guidelines and plans for all disasters, including natural and man made emergencies.  Our office is responsible for organizing and participating in related trainings, and facilitates communications between Local, State and Federal agencies involved in emergency response and recovery. The Emergency Management Director serves as a Point of Contact during and after disasters, and acts as a liaison between the County and the State, and any Federal Agency’s that respond. This office is also in charge of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) if activated during a disaster and the Director acts as chief of staff to the County Commissioners.

We are also available to assist the public in disaster education and look forward to opportunities to speak to schools, civic groups and other organizations.  We  offer assistance to all Agencies and Political Sub divisions throughout the County including Law Enforcement, Communications, Fire, Emergency Medical Services, Public Health, Industry and small businesses to develop and test their emergency operation plans (EOP’s), and identify and procure a wide variety of grant funding opportunities for facilities, materials, equipment and training. The Audrain County Emergency Management Agency participates in County wide, Regional and State wide drills annually to test the effectiveness of the Local Emergency Operations Plan (LEOP).
