Absentee
Voting Information:
Persons
eligible to vote absentee:
Any registered voter of this
state may vote absentee ballot if he or she expects to be prevented
from going
to the polls due to:
- Absence from county
- Incapacity
or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including caring
for person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or
disability
- Religious
belief or practice
- Employment
as or by an election authority at a location other than your polling
place
- Incarceration,
provided all qualifications for voting are retained
Persons
in Federal Service:
Any
person in federal service who is eligible to register and vote in
this state may vote even if they
are not registered.
Any
person who is authorized to vote for federal officers by federal
law may vote by absentee ballot for president,
vice president, U.S. Senator, representative
in Congresss and statewide elected officials without being registered.
Such person shall make application for an absentee ballot not later
than 7:00 P.M. on the
day of the election.
Persons
moving from one county to another:
Any registered voter who moves from one county to another county
in the state after the books close may vote by absentee ballot
for president
and vice-president,
U.S. Senator, representative in Congress, statewide elected officials
and state wide questions, propositions and amendments without being
registered in his new
jurisdiction of residence. Such voter shall make application for
an absentee ballot not later than 7:00 P.M. on the day of the election.
Application
for Absentee Ballot
Application may be made by the applicant
in person or by mail, or for the applicant in person by his or
her guardian or a relative
within
the second degree by consanguinity
of affinity.
